I arrived at the dive shop for the usual time; especially since we’d be driving over an hour to the dive site. To finish up the required underwater skills, we drove to Vortex Springs.
The water there is much clearer and youre able to see tons of fish. As far as skills, lets just say the dive instructor had to grab my fins to pull me back down because I kept pressing the wrong buttoin and was ascending too fast.
Most of it was me being overly nervous. However, as time progressed and I became more comfortable, even the dive instructor was impressed. We were able to see the entrance to one of the underwater caves; Im no longer interested in ever doing cave diving. LOL!!
Four (4) dives later, and I officially became certified to do open water dives. Im pretty damn proud of myself. Bouyancy is a skill I will continue to work on and will be doing so at Vortex; there’s where Im most comfortable at for the time being.
